288-person tournament $10,000 entrant fee. – Deposit not due until mid-2026

The tournament will be a 2-day event

 

Day 1 will be 288 competitors

• Broken down into 4 brackets of 72

  • Top 12 or each bracket will advance, plus ties, to day-2

• Any “hole-out-ace” from the 1st shot will advance to day-2

 

Day 2 will be up to 27 holes. 48 to 60+ persons (depending on ties and “hole-out-ace”)

• 18 holes of golf will be played with the top 16 plus ties and anyone that “hole-out aces” on 1st shot (ace) to the final 9-hole Final

• 9-hole final will play 9 holes, plus any sudden death holes to determining the winner. A “Hole-out-ace” during this final will only qualify for closest to the pin and qualify for the “hole-out-ace” bonus pool

 

Rules for WSSOG – A golf skills competition

1. 2. No hole over 170 yards

Minimum of 4 of the following (depending on the layout of the course)

• 1st shot from the fairway or tee box – (likely 8-11)

• 1st shot from a fairway bunker or greenside bunker (likely 4-5)

• 1st shot from rough (likely 4-6)

 

Golf balls will be “hand placed” for all 1st shots from the Tee Box, Fairway and Bunkers

withing the designated starting location for each hole. Raked and placed for bunkers

• No altering the ground except for rake and place for bunkers

• 1st shots out of the rough will be a knee-high drop, with 2 drops maximum if you don’t like the 1st drop

 

4. 5. No tees to be used

Every 1st shot must have an unobstructed view, except for a possible bunker lip (no trick

shots)

6. Total of 8 clubs in bag (including putter)

• 9 clubs allowed for women and 50 and older)

 

7. 8. 9. Maximum score of 6 on any hole

 

Open for any amateur golfer. No handicaps will be considered

10. Carts are to be used to cover all the ground

11. All range finders are acceptable and encouraged. Once the 1st shot is complete, all rules of golf will be applied from USGA local rules.

• $1 million to the winner

• $100k to the WSSOG Member that sends the participant

• $2,000 for closet to the pin for all holes (45 holes = $90,000)

• “Hole-out-ace” fund of $110,000 to be split equally amongst all “hole-out-ace’s” over the course of the 2-day tournament
